Hi replaced my standard toyota clutch with a exedy sports tuff less then 1000kms and replaced thrust bearing but the new one is making a squealing noising already that is annoying the hell out of me. Is it as simple as pulling the boot off and spraying it with some lube?

Yeah i read a whole 14 page clutch problem thread last night. man there has been a heap of dramas with them. No one really said if there was any other solution to the problem except pulling gearbox out and replaceing bearing again. Mine isn't even 1000km old only changed it 2 weeks ago? I prob should have continued on another thread i guess

It should be parts warranty from the supplier

Had some spare time today jumped under ute to check out this bearing noise. Seems its not the bearing but the clutch fork holding the throw out bearing againest the pressure plate fingers. Touch the clutch fork ever so lightly with my finger and noise goes away. Can this be adjusted some how? Theres only a bee dick in it

It is caused by differences in clutch finger heights. A common problem.

One finger hits one may drags and so forth. You could adjust your clutch free play it will stop your noise but your bearing will be spinning all the time.

So really you need to Hit the bloke who sold it or fitted it for you up for parts warranty.

The marks will now be in your pressure plate fingers. And nothing will fix it except replacing the pressure plate. And through out bearing.

Thanks boxhead we fitted at home ourselfs and was hoping there was something easy that could be done except pulling the box back out. Now the fun part comes trying to get a replacement out of the place that sold it to me

Should not be that hard but remember to check all your finger height are at the same measurement. If your happy to pull it back out and do it again they should give you another clutch

Noisey throwout bearing

I have a 2012 diesel Hilux that has a noisey throwout bearing. Was told that it's the bearing resting at a slight angle against the fingers on the clutch housing and that even a new clutch kit would not get rid of the problem long term and the noise will return in time. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Threads merged.

Some info here mate, its a common problem. A new kit generally solves it.
