Extra Breathers?

Postby Skeney on Tue, 08 Apr 2008 7:35 +0000

Hey Guys,

Help me out please. Everyone talks about extended diff breathers and I can certainly see their virtue.

What about the other vehicle components that form part of the drive train ie- transfer cases and gear boxes??

Are these higher than diffs?? Could these benefit from breathers too and would they be as easy to fit as the diff ones? (do they even have breathers..?)

Please Explain??

Cheers Skeney

I've looked at the transfer and think it would run off the gearbox one that is installed by the factory into the engine bay.

Doug, where does the gearbox breather come up? I have found the front diff one near the battery. There is a thread about this but the pics are gone :( I am keen to extend mine and have most of the stuff on hand to do it.

The gearbox one comes up in a similar location to the front diff
