Just returned from a great weekend away near Jamieson, unfortunatly 2 things happened... firstly I had to leave prior to the snow coming..
secondly... my front LHS brake pad failed and after a 3 hour trip home my rotor was absolutly f####d...
Upon getting it into the dealer today aperantly the other side has also chewed into the inside of the rotor. At this point I was asking why the hell didn't I know about this and how could they get so bad... short version is that I missed a service
I had my bonnet recal a short time back and took this as my last service... I've done 16.5K of driving since and a fair bit a 4x4 in that time. So I'm reluctantly happy to wear it... Anyway... to cut a long story short(er).. I'm getting the upgraded front rotors for the 16" rims 330ml. I should have them delivered and fitted by mid week and hopefully my new bilstiens and rear lift shortly after... Once they are on I'll give you all some feedback on how they handle... so far I've found my breaks okay.. not brilliant... but okay... I do tow a heavy trailer but not daily and I drive it like I stole most of the time... if I want a rear conversion I think I'd look for the Prado rear axle (2nd hand) but will reserve judgment till these are fitted and trialled.
On the upside... Jamieson was awesome and the camp weekend was great... spewing I missed the snow, pissed I stuffed my breaks but on the upside... the handbreak is fine with my "repairs" and the kids are buggered so I get a week of peace...
