V6 Auto Breathers

Postby gjohnson on Mon, 03 Mar 2008 11:45 +0000

Hi All,
I did a search and found an old thread with little red crosses instead of pictures and I think it was more to do with diesels and manuals. My SR5 V6 Auto is in at ARB getting diff locks and I asked for all breathers to be extended. ARB tell me they can extend the front and rear diff breathers but to get to the transmission breather they have to drop the transmission out and will take another day and a stack of cash and they arent sure if the transfer case has a breather because they cant see or feel one. Has anyone done theirs? If so how? Any responses greatly appreciated.
Greg.

G'day Dan,
I went into a dealership parts dept and got a parts diagram. It shows the transmission and transfer case breathers with a plug in the end. Plug part no. 90930-03172. So these are sealed units. Which is good because the breathers are on the top of the cases and cannot be accessed without removing the entire case.

So there are breathers they just don't breath cos they're plugged? Sealed sound good.
