Before I read this whole post "again" can any body quickly tell me whether they do the Elocker for a Prado 4.1 front diff and do you know the part no.

I have recently fitted 4.1 ratio gear set with an Eaton Trutrac carrier to the rear diff and a Prado 4.1 ratio front diff assembly.

Id say as far away from my drunk passengers as possible

I did toy with the idea of a madmax style blower activation pull on the gear stick but the Idea of my girlfriend wondering "what does this do" and activating the locker at 100 kph ruled that out lol

I'm going for a missile switch 8-)

I've got the part numbers in my glove box, I'll try remember to grab it tomorrow.

Sorry, didnt take any pics. It's basic though, very basic.

I just use the rocker switch that come with it, fitted it into one of the slots down near your right knee.

Is that a yes for Elocker in 4.1 carrier, and how did you go with the part numbers?

Mine is dead silent always. Don't even feel it. First you know is the steering is suddenly much much heavier. No clunks or anything just a sudden heavyness.

I engage usually doing no more than 20kmh , never under load (just throttle off for a few seconds when you engage) and not when turning.

Opposite lock rockdale did mine (rear) pretty happy with them, I think they fit a different rocker switch thats fit the hilux dash, not the one in the kit.

One thing worrying me about my elocker, the main 12v power (marked with arrow in drawing below) has been tapped off the thick black with red stripe wire behind the ignition barrel switch, I suppose its the main 12V input to ignition barrel.
The Elocker says max 8a max continuous current, do you think this setup is ok or should I be running a separate power from the battery?
The switching power has been tapped off another wire behind ignition barrel switch, suppose thats from the accessory switch and is fine.
I never questioned opposite lock as I never looked until I got home.

Anyone else had a look at theres?
What do you think?

I have front and rear elockers and I couldn't be happier with them, they haven't been in long but have done a 3 day trip up vic high country over queens b'day and the little lux kept up with a big 80 and patrol both fully decked out and with lockers no problem, there were 4 other patrols in our group without lockers some were running big mud chucking 35s and the little lux with cooper st maxx 32s out drove them easily  also I highly recommend the barkley river jeep track.

Off topic but I totally agree. Love the steps in the switchbacks. They can lead to some arse puckering angles. :D

Back on topic now. :|

I was talking to a guy on the phone from Opposite Lock about installing a Locker in the front of my truck. He said I'd need to let him know my diff ratio. I said it's a SR diesel DC Manual. He said they can be different, I said surely the same models have the same ratio and he said no they can be different. Is this right, that means two Hilux's of the same model can have different gearing? He's ill-informed is he not?

He is correct, different ratio for manual or automatic transmissions.
