Diesel smart exhaust manifold

Postby Bravehart on Thu, 18 May 2017 10:21 +0000

Gday.
I've had a bit of a search around but couldn't find anything on them.
So has anybody fitted the diesel smart torque master stainless exhaust manifold?
They look good, but some real world info would be good

Welcome to the forum.

I don't personally believe much of what they claim. The standard manifold is good for over 200rwhp and looking at 99% of the modified guys rigs you will find upgraded turbos, FMIC and piggy back ECU like Unichip, ECU Shop and HKS leading the market.

DS have big claims but challenge one claim on wastebook and your comment is :?: :?: deleted.

to be honest they aren't good at all. Ute in WA tried one on his 280+hp ute and it lost power on a back to back dyno run and blew gaskets as it wasn't straight either

To answer your question "does anyone have one fitted?" I guess I cant speak for those opinions above of people who have "heard" things but don't have one, I can say I have two on my dual cab and single cab utes. I notice an improvement in engine performance, smoother idle and quieter engine bay noise, torque comes on smoother and .5l per 100 better economy.

I don't think it is about the amount of power they are good for, it is probably more about the way it helps deliver the power. Three pipes feeding into one - got to be cross contamination in there somewhere. Same as any petrol car - the exhausts are always good for better, extractors are just better at delivering it.

Fitted one to the daughters ute when the new turbo went on and my brothers ute got one when he did a piston due to a failed injector, engine was out so the manifold went in. Mine has done 15,000 with no issues - only thing I don't like is that its not as shiny as when it went in....

Can we see the back to back dyno runs? Be interested to see them....
