looks amazing! I just got my first hilux (2016 sr5) looking to do similar mods. Probably with the AFN bullbar though

Nice!
Looks to be more than 2" lift, but maybe the flares make it look higher?
Regardless of your choice of winch. If thats the factory bar it has to come off to put a winch on.
Another down side of the factory bar is fitting recovery points. Roadsafe do them, but again...Bar off for install. AND you might have a problem as they use the same mounting holes located in the chassis where the winch cradle will mount.

If you do change out the bar. i'll give you $200

Thanks guys :)

A local 4x4 shop tried to install a Runva winch. I had to by genuine Toyota winch cradle and mounting kit, they took the bar off and could not fit the winch.
I was told that cradle is not wide enough for most of the standard size winches :?
They could fit genuine winch which Toyota sells for a ridiculous $2500.00 (plus 490 for a cradle and mounting kit), or the only aftermarket winch they could find to fit in that cradle was VRS 9500 winch.

I decided not to go with either of them on this bullbar until I research if the 4x4 shop was telling me fibbles or not.
If what they say is correct then I would rather change the bullbar and buy Runva winch for it. Would still end up cheaper than going with genuine Toyota winch.

I wish I knew this before buying this bullbar ...

Allords back springs are 300kg constant load. Front one are 120 kg constant load.
Back does not feel hard or bumpy at all, but front does a bit because there is no winch in at the moment.

My personal choice would be to stick with what you've got......I'll tell you why.

The toyota bar is fantastic... It doesn't stick out far, its close to the body. Just measure a toyota bar from the grill, and compare that to something like an ARB.
Its like holding a medicine ball close to your body, no problem. Extend your arm and see how much energy you'll need to hold it.... Then introduce an up and down movement like corrugations, and you'll blow out your shoulder or completely f$@#&% your chassis.....Your call.

Heres the problem you have.
Being genuine, your limited to the factory winch... its a warn.
To fit it, the bar has to come off, if you want recovery points. Do this at the sametime. Roadsafe are the only ones i know that will fit. and you're good to go.

Go aftermarket, and you might be up for a new bumper. No one wants to try and fit their bumper cut bull bar to something thats already been cut. OR go a complete bumper replacement Bar.

So.....
Labour for bar off
Winch at Toyotas price.....Crazy i know. But it will be all plug and play and neat.

Or
Bar off, new bar, maybe new bumper ( only to be cut again) winch of your choice.

Stay with what you've got.......Theres no rush

Thanks mate.
Toyota winch price is just doing my head in.
$3000 for a winch and a cradle is way too much in my books.

Maybe will go with VRS winch which can fit. I got a quote of $1250 for a winch + fitting.

Will speak to more 4x4 shops and see what they recommend.

Ended up installing VRS winch which I had on my previous car and was happy with.

Also last week installed Anderson plug at the back and ARB Frontier long range fuel tank + ARB under vehicle protection kit.

Previous to that I changed the side steeps to Uneek4x4 side steps/rock sliders, pricey but second to none.

That's some pretty impressive figures. How does it compare to the standard 'PWR' mode?

Hey mate, I have the factory alloy bar on my 17 SR5, I had no issues fitting a 9.5k Runva winch, I just had to change it from underwound to overwound. I was able to install the winch without taking the bar off, I just had to remove some of the factory bash plate, I managed to do the whole install by myself, just ended up covered in bruises haha.
