Ok!
Should have the new hilux by Friday but that hasn't stopped me from getting things started.
The Shed is full of parts to go on and I'm impatient!
Started with the Canopy this weekend. Aeroklas.
Drilled a few holes in the top and mounted a pair of roof rails. Was a bit nerve wracking drilling in to a brand new canopy! Made sure I measured about 12 times. Important thing is getting the distance between the two rails equal when measured from the front and the rear.
I had to go over the holes with a soldering iron to smooth out any cracks in the abs. The kit came with butyl patches for waterproofing but I added a bit of extra butyl mastic just to be sure it didn't leak.
Because I'm bolting down through the abs shell the torque setting on the bolts is only 3-4nM to prevent deformation which doesn't feel tight at all but I suppose there's enough bolts to keep the racks on there!
In the end it came up alright.
The aeroklas/rhino mounting kit comes with rails (in the first picture). These came back off so I could mount the pioneer platform (had to get new channel nuts to fit which was a bit of a pain).

Then it was on with the KING's awnings. 2x2.5 at the side and 1.4x2 at the rear. These were super easy to fit with the rhino rack universal kit which came with all the T-nuts needed.

I should get my side lights in the post by Wednesday so will get them mounted up this week. The real Fun starts Friday!

It'll be a busy month getting everything done before the new lux's inaugeral Fraser Island trip end of august but I'm looking forward to getting stuck in!

Busy weekend!
Picked up the new Hilux on Monday. Had the following already fitted at the time of pick up:

TJM Outback bar with TJM winch
TJM rear step tow bar
BP-51's by OME. Medium springs in rear
CKMTA-12 compressor. Behind the rear seat.
Hose extension to the rear bar for compressor
Front ARB Airlocker

Got to work over the weekend and fitted:

STEDI Type-X 8.5" driving lights
UNIDEN 9080 UHF and aerial
Put the box under the centre console, mounted the handset beside the fan control knob
Aeroklas canopy with the roof rails/rhino rack pioneer platform and dual KINGS awnings
Two side lights, STEDI slimline (not yet wired)
Provent catch can and bracket
Fuel Manager 30um prefilter and bracket
Bonnet struts (original plan was to have compressor under the bonnet so I ordered these, not really necessary now but I already had them)

Also went out and bought plywood/hinges for the wings I'm knocking up to go with the Titan ute drawers I picked up last week. These will house my power set up too. That's this weeks project!

Got out camping last weekend. Electrics were a bit of a rush job. Will be re-doing this week. 105Ah AGM in the wings charged from the Projecta 25A DCDC. Accessories run through a baintech 10 fuse block. Gotta love the 4wd supacentre camp lights!

Had another busy weekend. Might just get finished in time for Fraser on Wednesday at this rate!

Started with installing the matching TJM sidesteps and brush bars to go with the front/rear bar work.

Then installed roof racks over the cab. Took two attempts after buggering it up the first time (see my post re: roof lining removal). Came up great the second time.

Replaced the crank battery with an Amaron. Same size as factory so didn't have to change anything. Rated at 700 some odd but tested at 950 CCA in the shop! Should be enough to turn the winch.

Today was off to Fabulous Fabrications in Brisbane for the custom snorkel. Spent the day mucking around in the city while it was being knocked together.

Came up a treat. Worth the drive to Brisbane. Highly recommend Nathan if anyone is looking at a custom snorkel. He could easily charge double what he does and would still be good value. As it is they're not much more than a safari. The noise is unreal! First time I've enjoyed slow city driving. Had the window down the whole way listening to it as the engine revved up.

Glad I kept it stainless as matches the checkerplate steps nicely.

How do you like the BP-51's? I've had them on my Tacoma for about a year now and think they are pretty great.

I'm liking them a lot. Only problem was I went too soft in the rear. Have changed the springs to 300kgs but still not happy with height so will probably chuck in an extra leaf in the next few weeks.
Dampers themselves are excellent. Worth the money!

Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been on for a while.
Panel is an eBay special. Item 112229913801.
Decent quality.
I swapped the voltmeter out for a blue one from STEDI.
Very happy with it.
