Hey guys, thought i would share my new ride.
Pick it up 2 weeks ago with 53km on the clock and smelling new.

Quick run down of it....
2017 Sr5 auto, Nebula blue
Premium steel toyota bullbar
Arb ascent canopy
Tjm rb6 tow bar
Toyota under rail tub liner
Toyota rubber floor matts

Already ordered a few goodies which should arrive this week,
Stedi Hb3 high beam led light conversion kit
Stedi Led light bar factory switch

Stedi St4k light bar is on back order until the 25th
Window tint at 18% in a few weeks when im back from work

Plenty of plans too
Probably at my first service i may get the side bar and steps fitted
And more recovery gear

Slowly started swapping out the old halogen globes to led gear.
Changed the number plate light to a spare led one i had but im thinking about ordering the phillips led parkers i have in my subaru outback as they are awesome and 12 year warranty.

Im struggling to find H16 led globes that are of decent quality for the fog light though

very nice mate. ive got a query regarding the Stedi LED headlights though ? ive got no experience with headlight conversions and saw on the website that they use a small fan to cool the heatsink. If the car gets a major soaking ( a large thunderstorm not a creek crossing ) wont the fan be damaged?

Cheers plates,
Yeah that did run through my mind about the fan on the back. I believe that ill be more safer down here in Adelaide as we dont get large thunderstorms or flash flooding un like the east coast.

I love the canopy nice and smooth on the side without the handles and locks. Wish they did it for the n70

Finally got the globes in this morning.
Would of been great to have them in on the night drive up to the river last night but it means ill just have to test them tonight.
The only other thing to do is mount the power pack with some zip ties. Slightly disappointed they cant spare you 2 zipties considering the price of the globes.

well done. check for any extra hum through your radio as well , some have complained of noises but not with that brand though

No hum coming through the radio with these so thats fine, performance wise they are a cleaner whiter light but distance i wasnt totally impressed.
I think its because they dont match my lightforce 35w hid on the subaru and i had high expectations but they will complement the light bar well once its fitted.

I finally got the windows tinted yesterday morning.
18% on the front and 70% on the rear doors over the privacy glass.
Much better! I cant stand no tint on the front.

Ordered the Stedi ST4K 22" light bar. So hopefully it arrives next week and on the weekend i can get it on.

I to wasn't impressed with the HID 60w 4000lm I bought off eBay.
To start with the ad was for 6000lm ,when they arrived they were 4000lm. I did get my money back a full refund .... after the seller tried to haggle me.
As for the light yes they light up the road sides but they don't have distance.. the stock globes have better distance than the HID.
Once my bullbar is on I'll fit up my light bar and my 100w HID Lightforce driving lights [emoji1303]

No matter what you try for high beams they will never be as good as an light bar or hid spotties!

Just quickly pulled the dash apart and put in the light bar switch, because of the flash on my phone it makes the colour diffrence obvious but in day light it doesnt stand out.
Even the factory ones are different....
Now i just need to decided on the last spot, i was thinking along the lines of 2 slim reverse light tucked up under the rear bar

How did you go about getting that section of the dash off? Does it just pull straight off?

remove the two plastic screws holding in the plastic trim around the speedo, then the whole air con control section pulls straight out. I pulled mine apart a couple of weeks to install the same button, but bought the wrong size. Think I got a 39mm H button instead of 32mm, but I have the correct one now and will be installing on the weekend.

Abnormal, which wire did you tap into for the bottom led on the button? (i.e. when the dash lights turn on). On the wiring harness, it's the red wire next to the black (there are two red wires).

Does the colour of the led high beam upgrade match the factory low beam led?
I'm thinking of upgrading. Already got the STEDI X's sitting in the shed ready to go in.

Nice ascent canopy and overall upgrades look great! How does the dog go in the ARB ascent canopy? I'm looking at canopies and I really like the ascent too but just thinking they don't have sliding windows :( so would be good to see how you go with your dog in the back there? Is there enough airflow?

With the ascent could you measure the internal height of the canopy? It's a pain to find this without actually measuring, even ARB dont seem to know...

It looks a little taller than the Toyota canopy, but hard to tell given the design of the roof.

HiluxPRO you can get pop out windows as well for the ascent.

Hi, yeah I've seen the pop out windows and it just the back bit that pops out so wouldn't provide much airflow. Maybe if the front window drops down and can be driven like that? That may help a bit more.

I have the factory toyota canopy with the lift up windows. I've figured out a cheap way (thanks to bunnings) to prop the windows open about 10cm each side to let air in and have also fitted an air vent on top of the canopy. It is more than enough air flow for the dog. I've been in the back (with the dog while the car was moving...on a closed road of course :)) on a hot day and it was cool. the airflow from the side pushes the hot air out the top vent..

ideally i would have loved a sliding window for the dog but this is a lot safer than his big head hanging out barking at things.

I've used some foam and a snap hook from bunnings to prevent the windows from bouncing over bumps. haven't had any issues in the last two years. have left it with the side windows open and no rain gets in either.
