New SR!

Postby Tigesinaus on Mon, 25 Apr 2016 12:39 +0000

Hi all, thought I would share my new SR:
I really wanted the new Toyota canopy (which doesant fit the SR tray), so the dealer managed to source an SR5 tub for me from a lux that was fitted with and allow tray, and fitted the new tub + canopy at the dealership.
Other bits include:
- Steel BB / side rail / HD steps.
- Toyota (Warn) winch.
- Snorkel.
- Towbar.
- Seat covers and mats.
Done 1500km so far and have been really happy with it. Have not noted the tailshaft clunk from the auto as yet.

I'm putting a sr5 tub on my Sr ,does the rear camera off the Sr fit and work on sr5 tub . The reason for my concern is the sr5 camera is offset and the Sr one is centered.

It will work, the dealer did some wizardry to get it positioned. I don't think the pre-determined lines that the camera overlays on the picture are quite correct but they are not essential, you get a good view.

excellent looking unit mate. Question for you, did it cost much to get the SR5 tray sourced / fitted? I didn't even know I could ask for one, currently in the middle of ordering my SR. Cheers

Had to source a tub. Its not a factory option. The dealer was nice and found one at one of their dealerships that was taken off when the customer put an alloy tray on. Cost me $500 or so for the tub and the dealer fitted it as part of the package.
There is quite a few on gumtree ranging from 500-1000. They are not really worth much as most end up sitting in peoples back yards.

I was really keen to get the SR5 canopy as it follows the contour of the roofline, I found the ones that fit the SR, kick up a bit and dont look quite as slick.

I just picked up a new SR5 and the genuine canopy only has the popout window on the driver's side. The other three are lift up windows.

The dealer is telling me that's how they come now, have you seen any others with the same door as yours on the driver's side of the canopy?
