So after being screwed around since Monday morning I finally have the keys to the new ute! Will crack on with fitting some Lightforce LED 215s and the uhf tomorrow.

So I have fitted my Lightforce led 215 spotties and picked up a second hand space case to keep some gear locked up until I get an aluminium canopy made. Next job is to fit the UHF but unfortunately work is getting in the way.

Currently travelling through the UK and have been getting a aluminium lift on/ lift off canopy made while I'm away. The old man sent these photos through last night. Really happy with how it's turned out. Getting canvas over the mesh windows this week.

Thanks Max. Think I'll be really happy with it. Made by Smiths Aluminium in Albany, Western Australia.

Great canopy.
It's so easy to have so many different designs and canopies for different uses.

How do you rate the LEDs? I can't find a thorough review on them. Or it's of the old version.
Can't decide with these. Hid or fyrlyts

How does the lift off function work for the canopy.

How does it find the right place to sit when putting it back on?

I've got a grand plan I'm working on in my mind and would be keen to know the way these things work.

I'm pretty happy with the LEDs. I had 240 HIDs on my previous hilux and they were definitely better for distance but the spread is awesome with the LEDs and the distance isn't too bad. I feel pretty comfortable driving at 110kmh on country roads at night.

It has 4 jacking legs that slot into the box inserts on each corner. I'm in the uk at the moment so haven't actually put it on and off myself so don't know how easy it will be. The canopy will spend most of its life on the ute and will only be removed for the occasional rubbish run or house move.

BP51 suspension with 600kg rear springs fitted on Thursday. Really happy with the ride but am yet to play around with the compression and rebound settings.

Good looking rig you have there.
Is that a 50mm kit or stock height?

Hey Mutto. I've picked up some of the same rims and need some wheel nuts. Did you use the wheel nuts from the steelies or the alloys? Just wondering if the wheel nuts are the same as the older model. Cheers Ben.

Thanks mate really happy with it. Haven't run a tape over it but it's about 40-50mm. Good but of kit but pretty pricy.

The wheel nuts are the same as the alloy wheel nuts from the previous model I believe. I had them all fitted on delivery so pretty sure the nuts came with the alloys.

Cheers,

Sorry for the late reply mate but haven't been on the forum for a while. I have a driving pattern on the left and a spot on the right. Seems to be a pretty good setup for me.

Hey mate. Just wondering if you have had to play with your suspension after fitting the Canopy? I have got the same setup with the alloy tray, just wondering how the standard suspension will hold up to another constant 150-200kg Canopy.
