Mate, would you be interested in purchasing some of those over fenders and sending them to me in Australia? I would pay you for your time and effort. Not available here in Australia believe it or not!

Getting back to installing the train horns. Fabricated a small shelf to mount the compressor to the chassis rail.
Tucks up nicely out of the way.Image

Richard

I've ended up keeping the lid. This is the what Toyota New Zealand supply as a genuine item. After using it for a week I actually quite like it even though it was not what I was expecting.

Some of the things that I like
Interior Light
Central Locking
Rails embedded into top ,So can run Racks, Bike Carriers etc
With the Sports Bar attached to the lid it is easy access on the sides
Has a great rail system on the inside as part of the lid , easy to run hooks, has a divider that just clicks into the rail slide it up and down on the sides or even front to back Image
These are the recessed rails

Easy access on the side

Great Divider that clips in and can slide easy to secure cargo

Could you advise what brand light bar you have fitted and what brackets you used to fit it under the nudge bar?

I don't know what the brand was as I have thrown away the box, got them off eBay in Australia. These were the only ones available with adjustable mounting point as most of the are side mount. I simply used a Coupling nut to use as a spacer to clear the underside of the budge bar, will probably mount spots at the top

How are you finding the black door handle covers? I have been thinking about them, but wasnt sure if they will have sharpish edges on the inside every time you open the door?

Interesting to see the differences between NZ / AU models! Hopefully you can sort your hardlid issue out.

I might have to look in to getting some guard flares...

No sharp edges as they only cover the face of the handle

Yes hard lid is sorted was going to change it but the whole system with the rails on the lip make it really easy and light to remove, so have decided to keep it.

I was surprised at the difference between the AU / NZ in New Zealand or top of the line SR5 is classed as a "Limited" edition which has Electric Front Seats, Leather Interior, Fog Lamps Fire Extinguisher , First Aid kit

Finally finished the Train Horns mounted the Air tank and the compressor fit snugly on the chassis rail Image

I have wired the Train horns to the Steering wheel Horn button with an Isolator switch for the compressor pump and a switch for the Horn so when you Toot the horn on the wheel you can select the standard pathetic horn that came with the ute or the new KICK ASS Blow your ear drums Train Air Horns
