Just did an oil change on my new to me Hilux. 2020 SR5 Cruiser. I have had a 2012 SR5 for 6 years before this.

My god!! All those grown men and women sat around tables and drawing boards for months designing this new Gen engine. Absolutely none of them must of known the Gen7 well or at all. Do you know how almost perfect the
Gen7 oil and filter replacements were?? A 15min job to drain and replace oil and filter, A god send scupper and drain for the filter oil with easy top access and an easy a quick access sump plug location. The only gripe was the plug being right above the cross member so it used to get a bit messy.

Now! Every thing is bloody messy, the filter is in shite location and the bash plates need to come off to access. And the sump plug is now even more above the cross member. It’s a vast step backwards for a Toyota. They really messed up a good thing!

Farq me.

True - but it still is no where as bad as an oil change on a ranger.

I got no clue about what you're talking about.
Are you trying to do this on a driveway at home and just upset about the wife kicking you in the nuts about making a mess?

Ha! No, just pointing out a rather stupid roll back in evolution. It was super easy and convenient. And now it’s dog shit. Pretty simple complaint really.
