ECU Remap on the dyno cost

Postby erkilux on Tue, 30 Aug 2022 3:19 +0000

Hi

Have had my 2016 SR5 for a few years now and looking to do a custom remap on it. Never done this before so wondering what's a fair price? I've been quoted $1500 which seems a little high to me. Although this is in Darwin so maybe they can charge more.

Also looking for recommendations of a good tuner in the Darwin area if anyone's got any experience.

Cheers

Can't help with a recommendation or cost in Darwin, however I paid $1200 for an ecu tune done on a dyno in Sydney 2 years ago. Was very happy with the result.

Can't offer a specific recommendation, but back in 1987 you only needed to ask around at the Buff Club to find a recommendation.

Come on random dude, do you think they all went senile after 1987? I'm sure at least some of them have traded their 70series land cruisers in since then ;) maybe some have even got a series 8 hilux now with a dyno tune. ;)
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

It was 30 something year's ago, I was 20 and they were mostly Ooold back then, they'd be pushing the boundaries of the century if it IS the same people.
As for vehicle upgrades I had a Nissan 720 back then nothing available on my Hilux dash I didn't have on that dash. The only real upgrade is from petrol to now a diesel.
Please DON'T bite, this last statement is an intentional sh1t-stir.
:) :) :)

Another option is to go for a drive across to the east coast, I understand there's a fairly competent mob on the Gold coast, or maybe ask around the FIFO mobs, many mining mobs have highly qualified and experienced people.
