hi all .. i have a 2007 hilux which no one can seem to fix its problem ... the car will run great and the next time i go to start it it will run as rough as .. blow a heap of smoke until i quickly shut it off ... i would then let it sit for a bit before i go to start it ... and then it will run fine .. it has new injectors , new common rail , fuel pump tested etc ... has anyone come across this problem .. can it be something electrical .. any advise would be greatly appreciated

Potentially a restriction on your fuel supply. Run it out of a drum (take the supply and return lines off at the engine bay and extend to a drum

seen something similar in a Mitsubishi where the engine would run fine for a bit but once under load it would starve for fuel. There was a restriction in the fuel line itself (black plastic swarf in a 90 degree elbow.)
If it doesn’t fault then the issue is in the lines or the tank.

But in saying that it could very well be electrical as well but no idea what tbh

Possibly air leak in the fuel line. Check the fuel filter canister and lines
I love hybrid cars - means more fuel for me

Back in the 80's and 90's I would have said that's an electrical problem (something like a problem with the dizzy).
I think you just need to talk to as many mechanics as you can, one of them will know straight away. Also pull into the odd auto elec, a quick chat is always free.
