Do Toyota install an aux battery with a factory winch?

Gday all. I've ordered a new hilux and wondering about winches. Does anyone know if Toyota install the optional aux battery when they install a genuine winch? Or do they just hook it up to the main battery? I asked my salesman and he said they don't install the aux unless I pay extra for it, but he didn't seem very sure. It's a 2021 SR 4x4, if it matters. Thanks.

Winches are dealer fitted, so unless you ask/pay for it. No

With a new hilux you get one battery and its not powerful enough to operate a decent winch. I believe they give you a stronger battery if you order the warn winch (I believe its a xd9000) but you don't get the extra battery, thats extra cost.
After I bought my car I sourced a winch compatible bullbar, a used warn winch and a stronger battery for a fraction of the price Toyota would have charged.

Thanks for the replies. Yes it's a Warn 9000lb winch. I'll find out how much the aux battery option is, but I think I'd rather do it myself anyway.

Good call
That way you know exactly what you are getting, there are a lot of good mechanics working in franchises
But unfortunately there ate also a few to many not so good ones and they seem to get the so called easy jobs they can't stuff up :? :?

Side note. Just remember whatever you "option" on the vehicle affects your stamp duty total you will be paying. Buy it through the dealer and you will pay extra tax on it compared to waiting to have it fitted aftermarket.

Yeah that is true. The trade off is that any factory options that are fitted are included in the warranty.

Just a brief update to this. As people said, they don't install the aux battery with the winch. They do, however, as a matter of course, install the upgraded front springs to increase the front axle capacity from 1480kg to 1550kg (or something like that). I got the winch alloy winch bar combo. I'd imagine they'd install the upgraded springs when the steel bull bar is installed too.

Winch should be connected to cranking battery, not aux battery.

In many winch setups it runs from two batteries. Main and aux linked.

I just have a single, stock battery at the moment. I think it's 490cca.
