hi i have a toyota hilux 2013 and about a month ago i was driving and my fuel light never came on and i ran out of diesel

i let that go for a month to see whats going on

i now had to change my alternator as it packed up
instead of putting a genuine , i went with non genuine

now my fuel gauge stays on full

im not sure if this is coincidental or what

what could be the problem please anyone

Your alternator will have no bearing on it at all, two seperate problems. Do a search in the forum and you will find tbe fix for the fuel gauge, it is a fairly common problem.
