Be wary of windscreens replaced under insurance option.

I had one replaced by AAMI/O’Brien’s on my BMW, it was a disaster as they has to do it twice. They don’t use factory parts inc rubber seals. The seal was wrong when they installed my windscreen, wrong shape. Check your policy wording before taking windscreen option.

Even if you have Ins, you can request a local fitter replace it.
You just have to push the issue with them, (anti-steering legislation) here in NSW anyway.

Also if it still has the OEM windscreen you can request a Toyota screen.

Avoid using Ins supplier, they use the cheapest glass and urethanes, seldom will they apply rust inhibitor either.

I see their workmanship everyday

i had one replaced recently in my 2018 sr5.
it was $400 for a generic or $1750 for genuine glass.
luckily i had the windscreen option on my insurance - i opted for genuine due to the DAB aerial embedded in the screen horizontally - the generic still had the aerial placed vertically.

Cool.
was wondering whether a generic screen or OEM was the way to go given the DAB thingy. Think ill stick to OEM

I had mine replaced with generic and not sure whether I am imagining it but I think radio reception is not as good as it was. Do not sure about DAB though
