Have the latest hilux extra cab auto sr. The auto locking after 30 seconds drives me mad. Anyone out there know how to disable it. Have disabled the beeping with the door open and key in . We like to listen to the radio when camping. And also disabled the seat belt alarms. Why Toyota do the beeping with key in door open and auto locking is beyound me neither serve a usefull purpose except to annoy people. Have serched this forum and the net for an answer , but can not find one. Toyota in Bunbury say it can not be changed. First post hope it's in right area.

Autolocking is kind of useful. If you store away the keys in your pocket you often open up the car again. At least to my mates and me happen this quite often.
Without autolock the ring well be open then.

Autolocking is disabled if a door is opened in between 30sec after the unlock. The only thing that slightly bothers me is, when I accidently opened the doors when firing up (the cable to the ignition lock is removed because of the beeper) the doors will shut if I dont move the door.

Never heard of any procedure that will disable the autolocking, though.

There is a plug near the ingition lock which has two cables.
Unplug this an enjoy the silence. Hilux N25

The new one (Revo), I do not know

Here is a DIY with pictures (but in german)
Mainly turn the steering wheel to get the screws out, dont forget the screw near the hight adjustment.

The remove the upper part and carefully get the lower part over the lock.
You will see the plug when looking from underneath. Dont remove any plug with more than two cables!!!

I don't mind the auto locking. If i push the remote or the button on the door handle, its probably because i want to enter the car.
Why i like it. If i lock the car and walk away, then when putting the fob in my pocket i accidentally open the car, i know that it will lock again if a door isn't opened

I seem to have a similar issue. Dozens of times I find my car unlocked.

I'm quite a 'safety' guy, live in a big city. I'm very very sure I did lock my car and always ensure the lights blink as i don't fully trust my sender.

But quite often I find my doors unlocked....

I sometimes wonder about why the hilux is unlocked until I pulled the key out of my pocket and heard the doors unlock. Obviously I inadvertently unlocked it when pulling the key out of my pocket. The buttons are very sensitive.
