Canopy Setup help

Postby jabiru18 on Sat, 29 Jun 2019 11:37 +0000

Got a small canopy and want to mount a shovel and max traxx to the back of it. Searched for ideas and couldnt find anything, all for roof racks.

I would prefer at the back of the canopy so I dont have roof rack wind drag.

Inside the canopy there are two main struts I can bolt onto easily enough.

Any ideas?

As for simple things.
Lots of roof rack products can be super easily adapted to be bolted onto any other plate body Panel etc.

As for the Maxtrax they make their own quick mount pin which is simple and lockable.
Just mark out the rear wall where you want the trax and reinforce the skin on the inside when you bolt the pin down. (Sandwich plate etc if that makes sense) or if you totally fluke it and then pick up one or both the internal supports.

Shovel holder something as simple as the
Rhino one which is for a roof rack can be simply bolted to a flat panel too.

Their lockable version

These are some simple ideas which don’t take much effort and need little tooling at all.

Hope it starts you in the right idea.

Have a look at these https://www.yakima.com.au/products/acti ... ceo-spades
I used to have the Rhino ones and went for these cause you don't have to unscrew and slide the shovel out (not the worst thing in the world, but considering they're cheaper as well, it's the way to go), just unlock and open.

Myralga: ordered those parts you put me onto. Ill post a couple of pics when I have installed them.

I used to throw the shovel in the tray but kept forgetting to put it in this should fix that.

where'smycat: Cheers for that, they do look pretty smart and easy to use.
