Low oil warning on display

Postby baby huey on Wed, 02 Jan 2019 2:11 +0000

Hi there.
I have had the Low Oil Warning come up 4 times on the display for a couple of seconds over the last month, then dissapear. (2016 SR DC manual)
First time it happened I took it to a local dealer but found no problems found.
Scanguage shows no codes.
This was just after 60k service at dealership.
Only thing I have had done is fitted a catchcan.
Drives fine, plenty oil no engine lights..
Its going in on Friday for DPF remap. Was going to tell them then but thought I would ask here first.
Cheers

G'day baby Huey,
I had the same happen after my 50k service (sr5 auto). Took it back to the dealer and they found the oil level sensor was faulty, no reason given however they replaced under warranty.
They were not concerned with my catch can and said it was not related.
Hope that helps. Part item code from service invoice was - 8949171010
Cheers, Simon.

Hey guys, I had this come up my self in my lux for first time in high country at xmas.
Did it come up when the car was on level ground or climbing?

I've had it come up a ton of times while 4WDing, but I guess you expect that being on ridiculous angles for long periods of time.

I’ve had this message come up twice for around 5-10 seconds after driving uphill.
This has only occurred since the 30,000 / 30 month service.

From the above comments, it seems to come after its been serviced. Is the right amount of oil being put back in?

its a common problem for the oil level sensor to go faulty , maybe its sticking after having an oil change done ? not sure
