Foul smell from the aircon

Hi all
I’m curious to see if anyone has a bad foul smell from the aircon ? Or if anyone knows how to fix the problem or is this a Toyota warrenty ?
My car has 65’000k on it , it’s kept pretty clean inside ,for the last 2-3 weeks the air con had a foul smell when 1st turned on though now it’s all the time no matter if it’s recirculated air or fresh if the air con is on or it’s just fan. I am now driving around windows down no aircon no fan and which makes it uncomfortable living in Darwin

It’s mould or something in your vents, you can buy a can of air con vent cleaners from supacheap. Turn aircon on and spray into air intakes.

I’ve used glen 20 and that works real good.

May take a couple of goes to kill it.

Believe it or not, recently I had a rat that crawled in through the vents somehow and decided to have babies in my aircon system... nice cosy warm spot for it i suppose. The smell of death became apparent whenever we turned on the fan and became so bad we couldn't stand being in the car. I pulled the system apart to investigate and found the rotting corpses of a half a dozen rat foetuses embedded in the folds of the cabin filter. No sign of the mother. In between gagging I ditched the cabin filter for a new one, and sprayed a load of Glen 20 everywhere I could reach. Smell gone!

I'd suggest replacing the cabin filter and spraying an air-con sanitiser through the system as the others have said. I use a Wurth product (I think its called air con sanitise) and it works a treat! Take out your old filter, and squirt it all around in the box there and up the intake. Run it for awhile, switch it off and give it a bit of soak time, then boot it back up full noise for a few minutes to dry it all out, then insert new filter and close it all back up
