I got one fitted, very happy with it, was never keen on the after market metal tanks, also happy with the fuel gauge , it shows full until 600km shown on the trip meter, fuel light comes on below 1/4 and add 125L , safety margin of 15L

Go shopping

From memory here in Darwin ARB said about the $1100 mark. I will have to double check ...I was also told at least a 4 week wait

I have one and on my from full to empty line last tank I got 1200km doing a mix of all driving including an off road day
First week I had it the float got twisted and showed empty regardless of how much fuel was in it but ARB fixed it under warranty and had no problems since.
it's definitely a better alternative to jerry cans and if you consider having to fill up on places such as fraser island ($2.5/L for diesel!) it pays for itself

Getting one fitted tomorrow, for work purposes. I've got close to a 3000km drive starting Easter sat (from southern nsw to the Qld gulf) for said work. Will post back here to let you know how it is with a few tanks through it.

Has anyone gone off-road much with the tank fitted? I am interested but the lack of baffles has me worried especially on descents / ascents with low fuel in the tank (I understand that the best option would not be to do anything to extreme when the fuel was getting low).

The factory tank doesn't have them so why would it be an issue? The pick up has a cup around it which holds fuel for use so it doesn't matter what is happening in the rest of the tank.

Thanks for the feedback Toyzx, I didn't realise the factory unit didn't have them.

So, after a couple of tanks, all seems pretty good. Fuel gauge needle starts moving around 400km mark, drops to 3/4tank by 500km, down to 1/2tank by 700km and 1/4 tank by 900km. Haven't had it past 900km yet. Averaging 11L/100km- that's with about 350kg of gear in the back and sitting on 110km/h on flat Qld roads. So far, so good.

great feedback mate cheers

I average around 8.7-9.1L /100km ,I don't carry any loads so I should be easily touching 1000-1100km well I hope anyway.

I just had one installed and the gauge works fine, the DTE just says 0kms, i havnt filled it back up yet so i dont no what will happen. Geez id be hoping to get around the 1100km -1200km mark with 140l of diesel maybe 1300km.

Did the first fill after getting the tank fitted, fairly impressed with it, 1232km clocked up. I put 131.9L in today at a cost of $175. The hilux is using 9.3L/100km which is great.

Any advantages or disadvantages of the frontier over the long ranger tanks?

Only one off the top of my head- the arb ones are poly, so they are lighter than the steel ones- therefore less fuel consumption. The arb may be cheaper, not sure.

Some figures after having Frontier long range tank for about a month now.
My car details and most of accessories are in my signature.

From when filled all the way to the cap the fuel gauge drops to "Full" after 384km, I then refilled 43 liters (again all the way). From then fuel gauge dropped to 3/4 full after 530 km (did not refill this time). Then, fuel gauge dropped to 1/2 after driving for 764 km, refilled 85 liters.

As you can see I have quite a lot of accessories.
I do not drive "baby sit" the car and I drive the car in "power" mode all the time, just suits my driving style.
