Genuine Canopy

I've ordered a genuine canopy with my hilux and paid extra for all the doors to have central locking. Which got me thinking does the tailgate get locked also? Any of you blokes got one and what are your experiences with the canopy?

The rear glass closes over the tailgate stopping it from being able to opened.

With some force I recon you'd get the tailgate open with the glass canopy shut...

Anyone recently purchased a genuine canopy for an SR5 with pop-up windows, central locking on all windows, security grille, dust defence kit, and air vent?

I'm looking at getting one quoted at my local dealership and want to get an idea of what prices (incl GST) to expect.

Cheers.

Another question. Does anybody else have problems with the genuine canopy pop-out window not staying open ie the hinges collapse in again at speed or over bumps ?

Everyone keeps referring to these as genuine Toyota canopies
Toyota don't make canopies they just have approved accessories, there are way better options out there that are better value for your money
Not a dig at anyone guys, but your just paying another margin for something you can buy elsewhere

Spot on advice look around for a better option as it will be a fair bit cheaper and just as good as genuine .

I know I did .

Try and avoid toyota as much as you can unless you like an empty wallet

I have a genuine canopy, the fit is not the greatest. The dust defence kit also makes your tailgate hard to close. It needs a good shove. I now have a few hand dents from pushing it closed. Also the rear window doesn't fit very well. Mine was installed and the glass didn't fully seal against the rubber. It's been in a few times for some "adjustments"

I've got a leak in the left side swing up window that the dealer hasn't been able to replicate despite me showing them pictures of the leak. Just got back from the dealer and I'm gobsmacked that apparently toyota claims that there not meant to be waterproof!! Wish i was told this when i ordered the car.
I will be ringing Toyota on Monday morning to complain about this.
Anyone else with leaking windows & what have you done to fix it.
