SR5 tub - what is the better liner and L Track tie downs

Postby Kris NT on Tue, 29 Nov 2016 10:43 +0000

Hi All
Shortly I will be getting a tub liner for my SR5 dual cab , I am unsure on what liner is the better liner to get from Toyota.

I am also looking at installing L Track tie downs.
Has anyone got any pics they can throw up so I can get a visual and understand better of the different tub liners ..ie :under rail and so forth. Also if you have L Track tie downs installed a pic would be great and how difficult they were to install ?

Cheers kris

I Have the standard plastic liner and the tailgate part is crap as it's held on by 4 bolts and double sided tape.

I wouldn't recommended it at all

I also have the cover for the tub that fits flush on the top, pretty good but leaks.

Hope that helps.

Hi dannyboy1
Cheers for that info any info helps at the end of the day.

If they don't fit right or leak I think a tray will be getting built..
no point spending money on something that doesn't work or creates more issues later on.

Cheers

Hey Kris, I've got a bedrug in mine instead if the liner, I think they're about the same price. I love it.
Pros - non slip, padded(really nice on the knees when you're digging stuff out...got a canopy so can't stand up) the tailgate piece is connected to the tub so it stops dust/water coming up between tailgate and tub, looks the goods, easy to fit.
Cons - because it's a carpet it's not great if you're hauling fibrous materials or sand/soil. Apparently you can hose it out but haven't had to.

I'm going to fit some l track to the tub headboard when I get a minute and enough courage to drill holes in my truck :D

Getting one today, under rail version.
I plan on leaving the heavy rummer mat I already have underneath or at least get some thinner mat to go in between the liner and bed.
Thinking it might be a better idea to put some drain holes in and be done with it. A setup like that will never be water proof.

So glad you said this! My double sided tape has already come unstuck 7700km!
