Sigh... Old habits die hard. Remember when you'd rebuild an engine then have a "running in - please pass" sign on the back of your car. And along the same lines I remember when cars with the new-fangled disc brakes had a sign on the back to warn other drivers.

Yes I do remember "running in" but we must move on... glad we don't have to anymore :)

Richard, running in is when you rebuild or install a new engine the engine needs a careful process of bedding in all the valves and bearings by travelling painfully slow for around 2000 km. In the aircraft industry a new or rebuilt engine is run on a test bed for many hours before flight. :?
