SCC Cabin

I'm looking at replacing my 4.0L 2006 SCC with the 2.8 SCC 4WD. I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the cabin on the single cab-chassis is narrower than the rest of the Hilux range. Is that true, if so does anyone know what the difference is ( and why it's like that)?

So I gather from your post that if I'm after a SR 4x4 6MT CC I have a choice of wide or narrow body. I wonder why anyone would choose the narrow body over the wide body? It seems to be an odd thing for Toyota to do.

Sorry, I made a mistake and it has been corrected. The last 3 were not single cabs. I think Toyota did this to the poverty pack variants due to the wheels being narrower and the track being 40mm narrower. If they left the flared guards, it would look ridiculous.

OK - Thanks for the update. So all SC vehicles are narrow body. Makes it a bit simpler, I need a cab-chassis so that limits me to the SCC, there is no ECC available and I wouldn't want to lose the tray length.

It does seem from time to time that the single cab-chassis is the overlooked cousin - I can' t get the 4.0 that I have now in the new model (it's a brilliant engine and I'll miss the oomph on take-off) and if I want the up-spec power version of the 2.8 engine then I'm forced into a 4WD.
