I got a set of rhino rack vortex from Ebay and paid about $275 and fitted them myself. (ARB wanted almost 800 for purchase and fitment  )
Anyways took about an hour to fit and had no issues and they're quiet as anything.

Gday all
For those that have fitted rhino rack track mounted roof racks, did you use any silicone on the holes for the rivets or do the butyl patches seal the holes?
Pick up my set tomorrow.

Anybody have any issues installing the tracks? Had a couple if the rivets being very tight to get in and had to adjust the bottom hole in the track very slightly to get it to line up. Could this cause any issues in the future?

I have a post on my experience. Learn from my mistakes and have someone help you. Not a one person job...
easy with two. Rivets are very tight!

Has anybody bolted Rhino Backbone through the roof instead of pop rivets yet?

Mine was the first Backbone/platform Rhino fitted to an N80 and they didnt use the RTS tracks back then and the pop rivets have now come loose for the second time and i would like to bolt them through the roof.

from memory last time....when replacing pop rivets, the pop rivets go through the top layer of metal.....but if you need to bolt through, there is a second layer to drill through...correct me if Im wrong.

I will be dropping the roof lining when doing this....just thought id ask if anyone else has done this?

what size bolts did you use - diameter and length.

cheers in advance.

I don't know about bolting it instead of the pop rivets but I have seen a video about the pop rivets failing, basically those roof racks have an onroad and offroad load rating. The off road rating is basically only letting you carry 20kg on it which pretty much renders it useless.
