Anyone experiencing terrible fuel economy, try disconnecting your battery and letting it reset. I noticed mine using a little more than normal last month, last week I disconnected battery while installing redarc battery charger and now economy is back to normal. Could be coincidence but worth a try.

should have clarified - my car is Auto. best fuel economy I find is sitting about 57km/h or 65km/h, which is when overdrive is just engaged.

I just efuelled my sr5 auto and returned 14l per 100 which im quite disappointed about it to be honest.

115l for just under 800kms when the fuel light was on.
In saying the i should still have anywhere between 20-30l left in the 145l arb tank

Can't be a stock car. Petrol ? What modifications and load were you carrying/towing ?

14l/100km is what my modded FJ gets when loaded up. With the aero dynamics of that car it doesn't do any better on the highway than around town !

I've done 6500km in first month of owning my extra cab SR, running slightly larger diameter tyres,(speedo now spot on) tjm steel bull bar and a 2 inch lift, snorkel etc
In standard form I was averaging 9.1 litres per hundred and since the upgraded Iam smack bang on 10 litres per hundred km. Just drove Bunbury to Karratha in one hit , nice run doing 110/115km/h ..fuel light also comes on with 20L left in tank.

Hit the magical 800km tank, drove about 100km past the fuel light
Was just commuting to work.... Free flowing traffic in 60-90km/hr zones.

First tank mainly highway and back roads 9.5 L/100k. 2nd and 3rd tanks all stop start in Brisbane inner city .... 12.6 L/100k ... Not ideal. I'm assuming it is the attempted DFP burnoffs causing the shocking economy when I haven't spent any consistent time above 60km/h for a burnoff since the first tank. 4l v6 FJ with 33s wasn't doing much worse than that !

Really not happy with economy and fuel gauge now. Ran out of fuel this morning on way home from work.
Had only done 650km, 100km past when it said to fuel up. Av 11l/100 thought i would be good for a bit more!
2016 SR5 auto, only done 4000km so i expect it go get better the more i run it in.

I wonder if the 20 litres in reserve is in case the DPF does a burn while the low fuel light is on, maybe thats what happened to Drysie26. I ran mine 90km past the low fuel light and it took 70litres to fill and i filled it till i could see the fuel in the spout. The needle was just below the empty line

So been talking to a mate about this. I have put on 275/65/18 tyres on it so i will be getting more km's than it actually says on speedo. Is that correct?
Need to test this out in next few days by google mapping a trip V's how many km's it says on car.

Driving an SR5 Auto, under 4000 km on the clock. Around town average about 9.8 L/100. Drove home from Bendigo Yesterday and averaged 8.1 L/100, pretty happy with that, 4 people onboard as well !!

Yeah mate, you need to upload it to a 3rd party site like "photobucket" then copy and paste the image code in your message.

A few months ago I did an overnighter to Georgetown and averaged 6.8l/100.

Now, fitted with an ARB Summit rear bar, a Rhino front bar plus winch the best I did on a trip to Brisbane and back via Cunnummula, Barcaldine and Aramac this week was 8.6l/100.

Our 2013 models lease agreement runs out next year and i have a choice to either pay the loan out and keep it, or roll it over into buying a new one. These fuel figures arent convincing me to upgrade and then spend a wad of doe and time getting the accessories done.
I'm getting 9.1l/100ks fully loaded canopy/drawers/fridge/racks/steel bar/suspension etc etc running 32's.

Hate to see what these new models are getting fully loaded and with bigger tyres if those numbers are what they get bog stock.

SR auto - 32k down, steel tray and bull bar - best I ever got was 9.2k's per litre....... lacks power of the old, lacks the size of old one and frankly is not as comfortable. Steve hang on to it if there is nothing wrong with it....
