2015 manual, bullbar, no load in tray. After doing the dpf delete, tune and remap, I went from 9.3 to 7.5l/100. Drives unbelievably now!!

Sorry this might be off topic, but what's the cost for the dpf delete, retune etc and where'd you get it done?

Just ran first full tank in my new SR5 Manual. Mix of urban 50-60kmh and then 80kmh and some highway 100-110kmh use. It's a daily driver plus morning surf check, surfing and often afternoon surf check use. Not a lot of 4wd use, but a little to test the functionality etc.

I topped up the dealer full tank of fuel' to the top of the filler tube so I could get an accurate calculation.

Fill to brim at 35km

Just refilled to brim at 880km

Took 70.02 litres.

So, by my calculation, that's 845km.

So, works out at 8.29l / 100km

Dash fuel economy measure was saying 8.4 l / 100km.

That's first use testing power mode, etc and getting a feel for the car. I'll run this next tank and see how it goes... I'm expecting it'll settle into high 7s.

Note: it's pretty much stock standard. I've added ProRack S Wing roof racks about half way through that first tank.

Filled up today, second tank ...

845km and took 67.81 litres ... by my calc, that's 8.03 L / 100km

Dash reading was showing 8.0 L / 100km since last reset (which was at last fill)

Total of 1725km on the clock at the fill.

ECO, my ass

Just bought a 2022 auto SR5 3 weeks ago now to upgrade my 2011 3.0l. Really not very impressed to be honest but it's my fault for forking out if only to "upgrade". My computer always tells me I'm getting 7.9l per 100kms since last reset (serious question, why does this never change?) but filling up this morning and calculating myself it's actually around 15l per 100. What the actual? I'm hoping I've somehow messed up the calculation but don't think so.. will fill up again this week and report back.

EDIT- figured out why my ecu economy hadn't moved, it was because original owner hadn't ever reset it. I've just learned how (was pressing the wrong reset button..) but will test it against actual fuel use and report back

To get fuel consumption figure:

Litres in divided by
Kilometers driven in hundreds i.e. if it's 600 km then it's 6

Say 600km and 56litres = 56÷6=9.33333 therefore 9.3 ltrs per 100km

Also bear in mind, not all fuel pumps measure accurately, they can be ±10℅ in the actual litres delivered. Also best to fill to the brim and on a level surface, preferably the same pump on the same side in the same servo. Over several fills you will get a pretty accurate average.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

Well finally filled up today as the fuel light came on saying I had 50kms left at 650kms @ 9.6 litres per 100. Filled up at the same pump bowser as Gipsy mentioned doing and I'm impressed. Calculated 9.6 l/- per 100, the onboard computer is spot on!

I towed a trailer the majority of the time so am impressed at the fuel economy, I end up with somewhere around 7 litres per 100km without it so far so that's very acceptable to me. I put 67 litres in so in reality had about 130km left to drive.

Well done, always best to keep an eye on the consumption, often is the first indicator of future trouble. Now you know how much you have when the light comes on ;)

Another bonus is that you can now know the total distance you can get from the tank before you run dry. 758.4km at 9.6litres/100 or over 1000km at 7l/100 km
