Just signed the dotted line today! :D
$45k drive away. SR 2.8 manual dual cab pickup.

Price included the ute and a tank of fuel... everything else will come later ;)

I'd be interested to know what others paid for just their SR.

Hello All

Still new to the forum and trying to seep in the info on the new Hilux :D

i have made up my mind on upgrading to the new Hilux.

I would really appreciate if you mates out there would be happy to suggest me or at least guide towards the right direction

My situation. I dont fo offroading much (may b 3-4 trips in a year but nothing hard core). Now that the new Hilux comes with a Diff lock i may dare to do more :D.Hoping that the Diff locks are as good as the Eaton or other lockers out there.

Current Model - 2006 SR5 D4D auto
KMS - 210000
Mods - 2'' Lift kit ( Ultimate suspension one month old )
Bull bar - ARB
ARB side rail and Steps
Winch - 10000 Lbs (No idea what brand..but still functions when last tested 2 weeks ago)
Kenwood 6' media player
Reverse Camera
Claron Sub (installed behind the passenger seat)
12" HID off Road Driving Lights.
Bighorn M/T 32" (will have to be replaced in another 15000 kms )

I was looking to trade in my Lux for a SR (Auto) Dual Cab. with No other accessories or addons

After discussing my options with one of the local dealers below is what i have been offered

Trade in price (between 18000 to 20000)
Out of pocket - arnd 30 to 32000 (for SR Auto Dual Cab)

My Question is
1) Does this sound like a fair deal.
2)considering the added features that SR5 comes with i am better off to pay another somemore $$ and instead go for SR5 :?
3)I liked bull bar, 18" Alloy Machined Grey) and the Bed slide options that toyota has to offer, would i b better off getting them from the dealer for a better deal or would i end up saving some $$$ if i opt for other after mkt brands. :?
4) i did like the additonal 3 yrs warranty that i can opt for but the downside is it'll have to be serviced at the dealer frm day 1 and if i add any after market accessory the warranty would be void to me which sounds

I Really Appreciate you reading thru this :)

Thank you
Max

That's pretty high, especially for a manual.

I had a couple of Brissie dealers (sci-fleet and Motorama) "as low as they could go" at $56k for auto DC with tonneau and towbar until I told them about an add in the local rag for a Burpengary dealer which was $1k lower ! Ended up with the above spec and mats for $54990 in early July.

I reckon you can get 'em down, I wouldn't have bought this Lux at the time for $61k.

Don't accept the first or second price, same for the trade ,start negotiations mid month for a possible last week of the month sign ,Toyota MC sales incentives come on trying to lift figures,if they get stuck on a price time to push for extras.Make them aware you have talked to other dealers. This model is selling well but they do have quite a few sitting at TMC in Melbourne, some colours were only 1 week to deliver last week.
