what size rims and tyres did you end up going with?

Standard size 265/60R18... I don't want any of the rubbing issues I've been hearing about.

just shy of 4 Grand... 400 bucks a tyre and 435 a rim. Can be done cheaper if you didn't want the spare to have a rim. I will eventually get another 3 rims and tyres for the boat trailer. Might as well look the part. 8-)

So last weekend i decided to install my early chrissy present from the missus.
much needed UHF as the handheld is on its last legs.
after some searching i decided on the GME XRS370. expensive, but packed full of features and the updatable software seemed like a really good thing to have as the software is more likely to change rather than the hardware as they new models come out. and plus Australian made is great!!
Image
I've mounted the main unit behind the glove box. this is a perfect spot for it in there. remove the glove box and its right there in front of you. i just zip tied the bracket to a diagonal steel bracket that is all ready in there.
Image
the hand piece is going to mounted on the passenger side of the AC controls. there's just no room on the drivers side for a lanky guy like me. and i wanted to be able to see it without picking it up. this bracket is still a work in progress. im trying to get it to stay with having to ruin the face of dash. in case i remove it for re-sale.
Image
It was a bit of a stretch for just the standard cable. so i have run the extension cable to the underside of the glove box. and screwed the adaptor to the plastic cover.
Image
for now the antenna is mounted to the drivers side with a hood mount. this will be its home until i mount a bullbar
Image

All and all. a really solid feeling unit. it feels like its going to last years. and with the mass of settings i imagine ill still be playing with them in years to come haha.

Finally installed my Ezireach tray
Fits really well and has a capacity of 400kg- more than enough for me
I have also added small magnetic LED's that sit underneath the tray lip. These are connected to the canopy's wiring harness . Works a treat when opening the rear window. Extremely good quality lighting. USA made LUX lighting

My next job is to fit an internal roof rack to the canopy
I had one in my previous Hilux carrying Shovel, max trax (recovery stuff) - everything was nice and neat and out of harms way but sometimes difficult to get to as it had to be secured to the rack
This time I want to have this rack fitted to the roof inside the canopy just like my last hilux however the end closest to the rear window will be able to drop enough to slide out the rear window giving easy access to recovery gear quickly

I finally got around to finishing the fridge setup in my drawers. When I made the drawers, I realised that there is not enough height for a drop down fridge slide so I made the top where the fridge is, removable. I made a trim to fit neatly around the fridge to stop stuff falling into the drawer. One of the side benefits is I can get a can out of the fridge just by opening the glass part of the canopy. When the drawer is open, there is room behind the fridge to store additional cans.

Hey all, I've had mine for a few weeks and so far have fitted spotlights, a tonneau, and piranha dual battery system with bcdc1225 incl solar relay. Next opportunity will be lightbar, and a canopy. Really unsure whether to get some cheap roof racks for now to mount the awning or just wait for canopy to fit the rhino flat rack. If I knew how to load an image on here I'd show you but I don't so hey it's blue and looks great

What size and offset are the rims? Did they stay inside the guards?
Sounds like no rubbing issues

18x9 0% offset I believe... they are perfect and side of the tyre is dead level with the side of the guard. I couldn't get it any better if I tried. No rubbing issues either.

Those KO2s have more road noise but I was expecting that. They are super aggressive looking and they have made my truck look like a beast!

I'm in love with it!!
