What did you do to your Hilux Gen 8?

Postby telliscope on Sun, 06 Mar 2016 3:44 +0000

Though I would start a new topic for the Gen 8.

Today fitted the Toyota genuine Aux battery kit, slimline weathershields and bonnet protector!

Not today but fitted my Lightforce LED 215s a couple of days ago. Picked up a Lightforce switch that fits the new switch slots perfectly as well.ImageImage

I've just driven from Perth to Tom price ( 1400km) and about half of that was in the dark. I'm really impressed with these lights. The spread is awesome and distance is very good for a led, but definitely not as long as my 50w xgts on the old hilux.

I've got the genuine bullbar too and had to drill some extra holes to fit these but overall pretty happy. I guess you get what you pay for.

Well I just completed my first little mod
1 x ARB compressor
Image
1 Toyota small storage box
Image
1 x Baintech power board
All wired up and fitted nice and neatly in the rear tub

So I have Air, power for fridge, spare 12volt, 2 usb ports and a battery power meter

Behind the box towards the rear is an On/off switch and an internal light switch which connects to LED light stripping inside the box for which I do have limited storage space for my connections for the Air/ hoses
This just keeps everything neat and tidy in a waterproof and dust proof box
I have also fitted small LED's underneath the lip in the tub but these LED's will be connected to my canopy once installed

Senirb that looks great! did you have any issues / modifications to fit the utility box with a ute liner? Thinking of purchasing one but my dealer said it's not compatible with the ute liner?

Definitely not compatible but definitely possible
Had to remove the ute liner, put a steel thread into the existing tie down point, attach nut and bolts to just the liner, drill holes into the floor to secure to the floor and make some modifications to the supplied bracket and go from there. The bracket supplied was used as the main brace inside the box

Thanks! May grab one and give it a go. Would you be able provide the dimensions of the box?

That compressor set up is great! Well done.

Can't seem to find any info on the net about those boxes :(

Does any one have a link or do I have to contact my local dealer?

Loving the drawer system. Looks perfect!

I want to set up one on the right side only and a sliding fridge on top. Which will leave me with one side for the dog :).
