Have taken it to Ourimbah state forest twice. Nothing too rough, but thoroughly enjoyed it. This is my first ute in 10 years, so my frame of reference is a bit weak.

Can confirm no cigarette lighter, but 2x 11v charge ports plus a USB port, and of course the 220v plug in the center console, which the people complaining about the lack of aircon vents at the back can use to plug in a fan :)

That's a good price, wollongong toyota's best price was $62000 drive away no tow bar or liner. The sr was $54000.
Can I ask you where you got your sr5 from?

I initially spoke to Chatswood Toyota, but they would not budge. Wanted $64k with the goodies, but they got me some promotial finance rate. I shopped around, and contacted Stratton Finance to get a second finance quote, and and they offered to source me a vehicle.

Spoke to a lady there called Yvette. I can send you her details if you want it. I usually hate shopping for cars, but I think this was the best experience ever. She got the details, and called me with a price that was pretty good, then called me again, telling me she got the metallic paint included in the price, then called again to say she got another 500 off.

Rate was not as good as Toyota initially, but got them to under 5% in the end. There was a bit of hassle trying to find the colour I wanted, but that is mainly because stock is low everywhere. (The grey was my second choice, but now I prefer it over silver). Price included delivery, but I picked it up from the dealer she sourced it from (Pennant Hills), as they could only deliver later, and I was trying to get it in time for my 40th birthday.

Only minor irritation was the add-ons lady pushing super hard on crap I don't want like tint, and paint protection. Serious first world problems.

Been to a few dealers last weekend got them down to $60k with leather, snorkel, ute liner and the usual bits and pieces
2/3 dealers would come to the party
Windsor and Blacktown
End up paying $61k but I got the black wheels - having second thoughts on the wheels but I can opt out on the wheels if I want
Hard to find 18" wheels to my liking . Would like to get a smaller wheel with big ass tyres but not sure on the offsets and restrictions with brake calipers

Offset for the SR5 18" rim is +34 so you're going to be very hard pressed to even find an after market rim of that offset let alone one you actually like.

Does anyone know why the auto has the reduced towing capacity even tho it has the higher torque output. It's just not making sense in my head

Reduce the amount of heat buildup in the transmission maybe? I don't personally see the issue, people shouldn't be towing more than about 2T with these kind of vehicles anyway let alone 3.5T you should really have a v8 land cruiser for that kind of work.

Have a look at these https://www.jaxtyres.com.au/wheels/bran ... ?pid=65196

probably the nicest wheels ive seen on a hilux, you can get them and the maxis 275/65r18 buckshots, would make it a really good combo :) it says P45 only but im pretty sure they do a P20 too which is still legal (just)

If that is the case its a joke .For 60 grand it would want to have a tranny cooler

I have 265x70x17s or close to 32s on and they scrub. I think with a standard 2" lift these tyres may still scrub so 33s are a no go unless a decent lift is on the cards.

They have had scheme's like that for quite a while now, they are certainly increasing their density on the road in my area.

When i went for a look i was informed by them, that it does come with a factory cooler like the prado. I didnt even ask about it. So there is a good possibility it does come with one.
Im pretty sureit was behind the front grill next to the intercooler.

Just out of random curiosity, how does the back seat fold in the new model? Did they wake up to themselves, or is it the same as the outgoing model?

Owned my new Hilux for 2 weeks and tried to fold the back seat on the weekend
No luck

The Auto is a bit crazy, when cruising down a hill with no throttle it will gear down several gears from say 1500rpm to 4000rpm I understand why the Autos gear down but that it ridiculous
Starting to wish I had chosen the manual for more control

I saw in a picture that its the same bad design where the seat bottom folds upward.

I thought the seats were split so you could fold on side up
