Nothing wrong with the 1KD especially if it was the prado version, mind you toyota confirmed the 1GD for Australia so we get the new tech

It's interesting that the new engine (1GD-FTV) is totally redesigned.
It's nothing like the 1KD-FTV in many ways.

A lot of prado owners may disagree with you, on that comment.

Looks like no room for dual battery setup under the bonnet

I guess under the car like the BT50/Ranger then!

Looks soft imo, probably due to the EU emissions standards it has to comply with

I asked my local salesman today, they have no details on pricing yet. He said they most likely won't find out until a few days before the official release date...which he couldn't tell when was either.

Is it confirmed the Oz model had a DPF? I'll be interested to hear how often regens occur. Does anyone know if the RAV4 diesel has a DPF?

The roo may know. Up to now toyota haven't put a dpf on our vehicles even though they are required in other countries. Most other brands are fitting a dpf for Australia now even though they are not legally required. Probably cheaper to leave it on rather than design a new exhaust system just for us and change the production line to fit a few these modified, non-dpf exhausts just for us.
