Gvm Upgrade 2022 sr5 duel Cab

Hi All,

Looking for feedback on good GVM upgrade suspension, I have previously had Pedders but was after a better ride. Hilux currently weighs 2950kg without any passengers (1650kg over rear Axle)

Have been very happy with my ARB/OME. Many options to pick and choose for weight & ride height and some springs had a choice of dampers firmer or softer. OME springs are a lower rate so more comfortable, front coils were all same rate just different free lengths to settle at the desired height.

The options allowed me to get mine dialed right to factory ride height plus a bit for my config when fully loaded with trailer. Has worked great over last four years, much more compliant on the rough compared to standard.

ARB will try and sell you a standard config by their generic guidelines but there is scope to vary if you have the facts and know what you want.

To be legal I went for a 3150 GVM which is max of both axles which I didn't want to exceed for reliability/longevity reasons. You are already only 50kg off the rear axle limit, next step with OME is 3465kg inc 1870kg rear for which they specify a minimum of 600kg permanently carried load.

Only issue I've had is some squealing from rear springs so interleaf liners need to be greased from time to time, easy to do.

I would only use Lanox for this purpose. Other greases will tend to attract & hold dirt and grit, doing damage over time.

The high pressure situation requires graphite based & recommended by OME. The only wear over time is the interleaf liners which are disposable & easily replaced.
