Braking heavily, lose drive?

Postby Yianni107 on Fri, 14 May 2021 4:17 +0000

Hi guys, I have an 08 auto hilux 4x4 3.0tdi

I’ve recently come across a problem where if I’m driving any speed and slam my foot on brake, car feels like it goes into neutral (still rolls) and can’t move, when I accelerate little it just revs and if I accelerate more it pops almost like a really hard gear shift.
When it happens, I try shifting from D to N and I can hear revs increase to change gear (assuming it’s in drive)

I can’t find anything similar to this with any make and model problem, I have brand new rotors and pads (be fix) and checked over them and they are fine.

Any ideas?

Have you checked your auto transmission fluid level? I know it's an off-chance but it could be low.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.
