Cleaning Engine Bay?

Good morning guys and gals!

How do you guys clean your engine bay after playing in the mud?
Need to clean my engine bay cause theres a crap load of mud and
dust on it...

Truck wash (ct18) and a hose. Always cold of course!

Ditto with the CT18.

But watch it in the alternator and aircon bearing... It'll eat the grease out and ruin them.

As above in terms of product and methods .... but the lesson that will be learnt with time/experience is that mud pits should be avoided where possible. They may be a bit of fun at the time but they lead to an absolute bastard of a cleanup and destroy alternators etc.

I go the inox, spray away and then leave for 15 and then hose off.

Last time I went out in the mud it took far far too long to clean, the places that stuff can get.

Took it to a car wash place and had the guys clean the under carriage and wipe
the engine bay with just a wet rag... got it all done... hah!

Gotta love the cheap labour in the Philippines :P

Would cost a fortune to get that done over here :lol:

I use CT18 in a spray bottle and a wheel brush.

Some detailers and dealerships will steam clean your engine bay for a price.
