Message function

Postby Terrance on Wed, 13 Jul 2016 2:43 +0000

Anyone had any luck getting the phone messaging function to work with iPhone 6 and latest iOS? Every time I try to use the message function it says 'do you want to set up message function' I tap the yes button but it doesn't really do anything and the next time I try to use the messaging function it gives me the same message. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you need to download the 'Toyota link' app on you phone.

yep, I've used it. It will only read out messages that have come through while connected to the car unit. once you view through the phone, the message is no longer available via the car unit. I have downloaded the toyota app but not sure if that made a difference to it working or not.

I cant get the text feature to work with my Android S3. Does this need the Toyota App as well?

I think for it to work you need to (on your iPhone) go to settings, Bluetooth, car multimedia then turn 'show notifications' on

If you're using the default Samsung messenger, try using the google one instead. Toyota link has nothing to do with messages.

This worked for me but I had to reboot the media unit and the phone after turning notifications on.

Toyota link made no difference for me. I will try turning notifications on and doing a reboot.
