Steel cable around top of fuel filter 2016 SR5

Hi Just wondering if anyone has noticed small steel cable around top of fuel filter container on 2016 SR 5 looks a bit like a throttle cable on a lawn mower wraps around it & can be unlatched at one end definitely not electronics, has a clamp back to itself near other end, weird. :? CHEERS.

Actually due to one our our ADR in aus. In case of an accident and the filter assy is dislodged from the bracket the cable will stop if from flying around in the engine bay.

The cable will stop what from flying? Maybe stop the flying cable from being a flying cable?
