Sr has no carpet. You would be better off just using sound deadener

Hi it's a bit a old thread but looking for some help. I made up a box with the above measurements of some spare board to test the fit but at 1300mm it sits on the back seat mounting bracket. Will it fit if I cut it down to sit between the brackets? Can't really tell but looks like with top part could be in the way as well. Want to be sure about about the fit before I use the proper wood.

Cheers Manny

Personal you'll get more bass and a better sound from sealing the floor wells and fitting 2 x 8" v's a 12" in the rear,
A 10" on the other hand no as you'll get a full size 10" and not a shallow mount (well not all full size but a few anyway)

If you have the $$$ and don't mind importing
Look at the sundown X6.5
You'll get 2 in a ported box behind the seat facing sideways
farting is alot like jxxxxxg off. both provide instant gratification, but neither is a long term solution to the actual problem......................

the only problem i hade was i didn't leave enough room around the child restraint anchor points so i had to trim the box to suit.

hope this helps, good luck with the build.

hey i am interested in this design, but more importantly did you retain the ability to fold the seat up completely or did you lose that ability? i do some travelling and i use the room in the back with the seat folded up and clipped in for my engel on a custom board, i want to have a stereo but don't want to sacrifice the ability to fold the seat right up? thanks

oh and to befores question, ported boxes have a less flat frequency responce, hit harder and have a greater spl in comparison to a sealed box

has anyone ever heard anything about the 6 or 8 inch free to air subs (dont need a box) more like a midrange driver from a set of splits but apparently put out more bass then them?

or have any idea on how big of a box you would need to build to put a small 8 inch sub in?

Not sure if many mobs make free to air subs anymore, I had a pair of 8s in a car years ago they were shit compared to a set in a well built enclosure. As for box size, every sub is different. The sub should come with a spec sheet which will have its requirements for enclosure size.

Yeah I was thinking about running them in the rear speaker mounting spots in my extra cab so I didn't have to try and build a box an stuff and it still looked stock but I got some more bass apart from
My focal splits. Such good speakers but I crave that extra kick. I know focal make a 5 or 6 inch free to air that's ment to run between speakers and subs for that more mid range bass but I was just wondering if anyone else knew of any other options or ideas

I don't want to go under seat sub and I've always been a massive fan of the stock factory look

Ya could seal up the space behind the sub and go nuts with sound deadener, will probably be the go.

Sound deadner is the way to go for sure as much as u can afford. I put a bunch of dynamat on the outer skin and inner skin of the door. I'm running 2x8 inch in a custom box that sits in the foot well over the trans tunnel.
