That cable either needs to be cut and twisted together under the seat or left connected. If disco'd and not shorted the lights wont flash on unlock. when using a key to unlock the doors they wont all unlock and some othet weird things. if you havent touched it, it could be a faulty sensor in the seatbelt clip.
Hmmm.... not sure about that one
Over time I've tryied the wire under the seat, plugged in/out same result.
Just to confuse things more my car (05 SR) always flashes when locked, but sometimes flashes when unlocked and sometimes does not flash. Can be within the period of the same day, 1 hour or only 1 minute.
At first I also thought it was a voltage thing. But try it, no flash, try it no flash, open doors, bonnets, bash and crash, try it yes flash
, try it again no flash. If it was a voltage thing, then opening doors and bring on the interior light does not help the voltage.
I have noticed that when I disconnect the batteries to do stuff, the behaviour of the flashing does change, so this definitely has something to do with it.
In the end I just gave up on it and put it down to somebodies gone nuts in my car with a pair of wire cutters and a soldering iron and I'm getting feed back from somewhere somehow
but if others are doing it too, then maybe Toyota has something to answer to
