Mine is also an 07 Diesel. Still running the original battery but it is starting to struggle on cold mornings. I expect to replace it within the next 12 months. Happy with that.

October 2005 still on the original battery. Doesn't show any sign of dying.
Isn't it funny how long OEM batteries last, but 3yrs is about all you can expect from a century battery. :?:

Winches kill them I've found. Apart from that they last for ages. Got 6 years out of mine until I killed it with the winch.

August 2010, battery was perfect until I took it in for its last service. My mechanic left the ignition on after he checked the codes and killed it. He jumped it and said it tested fine, after starting it a few times I noticed the different sound the ute would make starting up, all good for a week and a half. Wednesday 03/06/15 Now dead.
Anymore links for threads that I could possibly change it to. Cheers

Mine Haas been going fine for 5 years. Does anyone know if the dealers sell the original batteries or do they just sell after market ones. Reason being I don't think I have ever replaced a battery with one that lasts as long as the original one and the warranty is probably better anyway

That's because the japs use Japanese produced batteries as oem, you can not get them in oz, even batteries with the same brand name like yuasa or kobe are not Japanese when sold in oz. Only way you can get jap made batteries is to import your own, some transport companies used to get their own batteries by the pallet full shipped dry and wet them down when they need to use them, but I don't know if this can be done with sealed batteries.

Mine was a Panasonic made in Thailand, pulled it out at 5.5 years (had started to lose cca) but is still going as a test/jumpstart battery.

2x toyota dealers just quoted me over $1500 for a genuine replacement battery. They all had alternatives around the $180 mark but The 3rd dealer quoted me $160 for a replacement yuasa battery said to be a genuine replacement.

Onto my 3rd Hilux and never replaced a battery.

1st Hilux 5 years old and 2nd was 4 years old. Always worked FIFO with vehicle sitting idle for 6 week periods and never had a problem starting.

Haha, you are a thinking man!!, wish I had of thought of that.
I ended up buying a alco battery replacement for $150 ;) fully sealed calcium battery. 750cca 20ah
It was this or an exide hd. 730cca. my second battery is a exide stowaway 100ah 680cca deep cycle, I even considered another one of these as a starting battery. But stuck to a designated starter.
