fog lights for sr

fog lights for sr

Postby marlinman on Fri, 15 May 2009 1:21 +0000

hi guys

i am in the process of fitting an arb sr5 bar on my sr, complete with foglights. i would like to know if the wiring loom for the sr5 foggies are in the sr, and if so what colours would i need to tap into behind the dash to run my switch? there are several extra, unused plugs near the headlights so i am hoping it may be a straigh forward job.

cheers
Mark

Wen OL installed an Ironman Deluxe bar to my SR that included foglights, they ran a relay from the main battery just as you would to wire in spotlights. That's what I would do.

Cheers Rod,

If it isnt possible to utilise the existing loom, that is exactly what i will do, i have found a plug below the headlight that fits the fog lights, just havnt been able to find it under the dash.

Have a search for spotlight wiring on this forum. You will need a switch and a relay. The relay has two sides to it, the high voltage side and the low voltages switching side. You run a wire from the battery through an in line fuse to the relay (pin 30?) and then wire from the relay (pin 87?) to the spotlights and then the other side of the spotlights to the earth. The low voltage side goes through the relay from battery to earth via the switch. Also check my pin numbers I might be wrong.
