Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help me make a decision on power cable size for my new Subwoofer amp. I have an Alpine S-A60M its a mono block with an RMS of 600w @ 2 ohms or 330w @ 4 ohms and a total MAX of 1100w.

The subwoofer is a Kenwood KFC-WPS1000F it runs at 4 ohms so the amp will be running the 330w RMS the calculations i have done have told me that 8AWG cable will be sufficient but the alpine spec sheet tells me that 4AWG is needed. The cable run should not be more than 4-5 meters.

Normally i would just go with manufacturers spec but it will be hard enough finding space to pass the 8AWG cable through the firewall... That being said if anyone has a good suggestion on how best to get big power cables into the cabin please pass them on. Is there a good hidden grommet? preferably on the passenger side

TIA

Directly underneath the driver's seat there's a grommet in the floor with a blue brake wire for trailer brakes. Lift the trim on the sill and under the carpet. That would be a good place to start.
