tub central brake light replacement

tub central brake light replacement

Postby s4048818 on Tue, 27 Jul 2021 10:31 +0000

Hi Guys I managed to smash my rear (central) brake light on my own tow bar :?
Toyota want my first born child for a genuine replacement so I'm chasing a non-genuine alternative, with the full wiring plug such that it's plug & play. This is for a 05/06 GGN-15 SR styleside. I can only find a 2015+ version on ebay that has the full plug setup. Does anyone know if the later models have the same tub brake light as the 05-09? Or any suggestions where I could source a replacement?
Cheers!

Wreckers? Plenty of second hand tubs around.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

I am led to believe that the only difference is one is a red lens and the other is a clear lens, completely interchangble

If the lens is interchangeable that might be OK, but being a Brake Light you need to make sure the lens colour is correct for the jurisdiction you're in. NSW (and probably Australia wide) a Brake light must display as Red.
