Intermittent Fault: Windscreen Wipers

I have had an intermittent fault with my windscreen wipers on my 2013 SR5 Diesel dual-cab over the last few months (wet season).
Basically in very heavy rain the windscreen wipers have stopped three times when they were on their fastest setting.
In order to make them work again I turned off the car, unplugged the fuse, plugged it back in and restarted the ute. Each time the fuse hasn't been blown and has had a tight connection.
I have had a search through the forum but haven't found anything that matches the issue.
Any assistance you might be able to provide to source the issue would be greatly appreciated.
