Intake Air Temp Sensor 2 (intercooler)

Intake Air Temp Sensor 2 (intercooler)

Postby Mrmal on Sat, 20 Jul 2019 7:49 +0000

Gday guys, car has pulled all fuel during running and whilst not in limp it has no real pull. 2007 1kd, tracked it back to an IAT of 0 degrees on both air temp sensors. It did have one code of P0098 which indicates a fault on the intercooler side.

Question - has anyone experienced this? The earth resistance according to the service manual is not per spec - wiring issue or an ECU issue, any help appreciated.

Cheers
Mal

Is that part# 8942460010 ?

It could be covered in oil. I can't remember reading about problems with them but my memory isn't great. They are however $58 plus freight for the genuine part from partsouq
I might be wrong.

Oil can occur on the intercooler sensor unless to have $100 percent efficient catch can. The sensor at the airbox can fail or get dirty - there is a test somewhere for that.

Also, if you have a blanking plate or any other mod, these can play havoc with these sensors eg:
