Master power window switch - Burnt

Master power window switch - Burnt

Postby h4ck on Tue, 25 Sep 2018 8:08 +0000

Good day guys,

Couple days ago, my main power window switch started to smoke, and is partially melter (fortunately I had not got too far). The switch itself still works, but it starts to smoke as soon as I plug it in.

I ordered a replacement switch for it, albeit from eBay, and they looked the same, and was supposed to be for my vehicle (2007 Hilux), but it does not work, although it plugs in fine and looks identical.

Turns out the internals of the switch were completely different, go figure.

Without having to forkout $200USD plus shipping and duties for a switch, do I have any other options?

Any help would be appreciated.

Good idea. Should have mentioned i'm not from Australia. No such luck with a wrecker down this part (Caribbean).
Can you steer me in the right direction?
