CTEK D250SA & Smartpass 120

CTEK D250SA & Smartpass 120

Postby Macca96 on Fri, 31 Aug 2018 8:50 +0000

Hi guys,

Searched and searched top and bottom in this forum and can't seem to find my answer. I've recently purchased a CTEK D250SA and Smartpass 120 for the tub of my Dual cab hilux, running a 120AH AGM battery in the back and wondering what size cable everyone is running and are you running a negative from "Starter" to "AUX" or just to a clean ground point on the chassis?

If there is already a thread for this, please send me the link.

Cheers.

Hmmm, going to go out on a limb here and say the smartpass seems a bit of overkill but gives the good salesman something to sell people that think they need such a device.

Can supply 120 amps, sounds impressive, where does it get the 120 amps to supply?

For the back i would run 6 B&S twin core minimum. Don't bother with SmartPass its only useful for big battery banks (500Ah+)

Even if you had a high output alternator plus solar panels to produce 120amps, i would not charge a 120Ah battery at a 1C rate.

The maximum recommended charge for my Fusion 120Ah is 30Amps.
